Skin Care

Get Baby Soft Skin

Cleanse your skin once a day with soap, water, and a soft sponge.

Exfoliate once a week with a loofah, or with a cleanser that has a sandy, gritty texture.

Pat dry with a towel. Don't rub or scrub - this damages your skin.

Apply lotion or cream before you leave the steam-filled bathroom. This is the best time to moisturize your skin because your pores are still open and your skin is still moist.

Wear sun block if you're going to step outside of your house (or even sit by a sunny window). One of the reasons babies have such soft skin is that they haven't been exposed to the harmful effects of UV rays!

Moisturize especially dry or tough areas, especially the feet, elbows, knees, and hands, right before going to sleep.

Drink half your weight in ounces of water every day. For example, if you weigh 140 lbs., you should drink 70 ounces of water every day. This will keep your skin hydrated from the inside out.

Take a daily multivitamin to help your skin fight off damage and wrinkles.

After your shower put baby oil on your skin. If you take a bath put 5 capfuls of baby oil in the water.

After bath or shower dry skin and put on lotion

Aloe Vera and Skin Care

Many people will have heard of Aloe Vera in the context of skin care. But what is Aloe Vera? Well, Aloe Vera is a plant that belongs to the well known Lily family of flowers. It looks a little like a cactus, and has been used for its medicinal properties over the years - though only a couple of varieties have medicinal properties. Much of the plant is water, but the outer leaf contains a sap that is used for lotions and gels and is beneficial. Rich in many vitamins and minerals, all together, these can have a powerful help in skin care.

How to Ensure Make Up Looks Natural

For some women, spending ages on makeup is a pleasure, not a chore.

However the result can be a bit unnatural if you are not careful, as you can go overboard with colours and combinations!

The best way to ensure that the look is natural is to stick to colours that complement, and certainly avoid any sort of clashing from occurring. For instance, dark skin and hair will work better with darker shades, whilst for light skin tones you will need lighter colours.

It is not rocket science, but resist the temptation to experiment as you might look washed out or over emphasised if you don't use colours that work well with your skin and hair colour tones.

How To Add Life To Hair

If you want to add some life to hair that is lifeless then what you should look to do is add a little body.

One of the best ways to achieve this is to wash your hair and then dry it gently and naturally (without hair dryer). On the resultant hair, simply use a volumizer and rub into the hair. This will help to give you some of that body and shape back to your lifeless hair.

The final step is to then try and style your hair as normal, or as close to your normal style as possible. Disaster avoided!

How Herbs Can Help Your Hair

It may sound strange, but different herbs can really help your hair!

Here's a look at two friendly herbs for the hair:

  • sage: this is excellent for making slightly weak hair stronger.
  • Rosemary: if you have dark hair, you'll find that this can really enhance your hair.
